I’m Ashley — a hospitality founder, host, and lifelong collector of interesting people, places, and rooms with a little too much character.
If I’m honest about what I’m actually doing with most of my time, it’s chasing a feeling. Not a bottle, not a view, not a room itself — the feeling underneath all of it. The one you get walking into a space that already has a story. The one a single calla lily in a bud vase can communicate before anyone’s said a word. The one that makes a stray dog decide to climb a mountain every morning just because.
I’ve built my whole world around noticing that feeling and trying to recreate it for other people.
I see it through three things: people, places, and culture.
Wine happens to be the language I speak it in most often, but this newsletter isn’t really about wine. It’s about what makes a room worth remembering, why some spaces feel like they’ve already lived a life before you walked in, and the small rituals — flowers on a Tuesday, the right music at the right hour, a table set with intention — that turn an ordinary night into one people actually talk about later.
I’m the founder of SNOOTI Society, a wine and hospitality membership built around exceptional spaces and the chefs behind them, and I’m building Tavola by Ashley — my own table, where I do the cooking and the curating myself, for people I actually want in my kitchen. Two different things, built on the same instinct: that hospitality should feel generous, never performative, and that the best nights always have a little bit of story to them.
Here, I write about the places I’m discovering, the philosophy behind why they work, and — every so often — the version of me that shows up hungover on a mountain in Mexico and gets shown up by a stray dog. It’s not always polished. It’s always honest.
